Dr. Palmer&#039;s comments are helpful, and correspond with my own experience. It seems to me that the emotional aspect of learning, even in a traditional lecture setting, has been underestimated. When I am emotionally involved in a lecture, it comes alive for my students. When that happens, I interact better and use more examples, and I believe my students learn better.

This is the part that I worry about losing as we develop new online techniques.
